“I confess I do not believe in time. I like to fold my magic carpet, after use, in such a way as to superimpose one part of the pattern upon another. Let visitors trip. And the highest enjoyment of timelessness―in a landscape selected at random―is when I stand among rare butterflies and their food plants.- nabokov

Watch a Conversation With Luminaries Descended From Ida B. Wells, Frederick Douglass & Booker T. Washington |
In honor of Juneteenth, join FRONTLINE and PBS Black Culture Connection for a conversation that will reflect on the work of historic leaders including the abolitionist Frederick Douglass and the journalist Ida B. Wells, whose reporting raised awareness about lynching and was an inspiration for FRONTLINE's Un(re)solved project.
You can RSVP now to watch the virtual event on Friday, June 24 at 2 p.m. Eastern; it will also stream on the PBS Black Culture Connection Facebook page. The discussion will feature insights from:
The event will be moderated by journalist Ron Nixon, global investigations editor at the Associated Press and a co-founder of the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting.
Nixon, Duster and Morris will discuss how history, education and storytelling can reveal truth and provide pathways toward empowerment and justice. Their conversations will also explore cold case killings during the civil rights movement, and how they relate to the state of race relations in American today. |
Dear Mr. Timor You,
I hope that this day may bring many graces on the fathers in your life. The question can be asked, “What is a father?” Or, more precisely, “What is a Catholic father?” I think that many men feel embattled as the war on masculinity has reached epic proportions. With the gender-bending, pronoun-swapping craziness going on, it’s a wonder any male dares call himself a real man these days. My dear friend, Adrien Fonseca, will share his thoughts on Fathers in this just released YouTube video. A Catholic father today MUST stand out. He cannot be mediocre and still be Catholic in the pagan days in which we live. Would you like to know what constitutes a “mediocre” man? Well, you could read The Republic by Plato. But I suggest you click here and watch this short YouTube video instead. You will enjoy Adrien’s impassioned thoughts about fathers on this Father’s Day! And after watching the video, please share it with the father figures in your life. Timor, I was thinking the other day about how Christ was truly God and truly Man. Then it occurred to me, perhaps this is why Satan wants to erase the image of what it truly means to be a man by erasing from our minds and experience the masculine qualities of Christ. And by doing so, to emasculate the Catholic Faith in men and the strength that has always been required in its practice. Thank you, my friend, for letting me share my thoughts with you today. Now please click here and watch this YouTube video of one young Catholic man who is far from mediocre. | |||

Detective fiction is a subgenre of crime fiction and mystery and suspense fiction, in which an investigator (most often a detective, professional or amateur) investigates a certain crime, usually a murder.
It has a very well defined structure, even when the narrative does not respond to the chronological presentation of the events. It is made up of three parts:
Introduction: The crime, murder or criminal enigma is presented.
Nudo: Multiple questions are raised, different possible suspects and the investigation is delved into.
Outcome: The murderer is discovered or the enigma is solved (the outcome is not open).
In this type of novels the detective never fails, therefore, we will always obtain the answers to the questions planted in its pages at the end. They never talk about perfect crimes. The reader usually identifies with the investigator and experiences firsthand the investigations that reconstruct the crime until they find the murderer.

Dear Reader,
Dear Reader,
It's now official: We're in a bear market.
With the S&P 500 down more than 20% (and the NASDAQ even worse)... a lot of folks are finally coming around and admitting it:
The "everything bubble" has popped.
It's easy to be bearish now. It's almost "cool" all of a sudden.
But NOBODY was saying this when it mattered – like I did.
And having called this crisis perfectly so far, I'm telling you:
A 20% fall is likely just the beginning. It's about to get much uglier.
And if you don't want to suffer a wipeout like 2008, you need to make a strategic move now.
Luckily, I'm sharing a ONE-step plan for free, right here.
If you've been avoiding taking action – this could be the last wake-up call you're ever going to get.
Please, do this before it's too late.
Regards,
Dan Ferris
