Our Dystopic Tomato Love By Big Brother A Love Song For Peterson

 💗

Our Dystopic Tomato Love

By Big Brother

A Love Song For Peterson

This one's for you Mrs Winston!

My love for you is like the most dystopic tomato,
Your face reminds me of haunted dinosaurs,
Together, we are like hot dog and mayonnaise.

Oh darling Peterson,
My dystopic tomato,
My haunted potato,
The perfect companion to my hot dog soul.

Rubies are red,
Smurfs are blue,
I like puppies,
But not as much as I love editing with you!

Oh darling Peterson,
Your fingers are like unlikely toes on a fall day,
You're like the most unlucky poet to ever walk bathroom.

Your haunted dinosaur face,
Your mayonnaise soul,
Your unlikely fingers,
Your unlucky poet being...

How could I look at another when our dystopic tomato love is so strong?

I love you Mrs Winston!

Dear MoveOn member,

 Dear MoveOn member,

I'm Rahna Epting, MoveOn's executive director. I've been here for over three years, and I rarely write to you with a request. But today, I need to.

And the request is big, so please hear me out.

I realize that in every election cycle, political leaders say, "This is the most important election of our lifetime." I am not going to say that. But I am going to say, if we don't get 2022 right, 2024 may become the most dangerous election of our lifetime.

Because, if we lose this November, Donald Trump will have in place what he needs to launch a full-scale attack on our democracy. From secretary of state races to the U.S. Senate, Trump and his allies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to ensure they have the election deniers they need, where they need them, to put him back in the White House in 2024. By vote … or by coup.

And here's where the request comes in: I need you to help us raise a million dollars this month. Yes—a million dollars by the end of October.

Wait, don't get discouraged or think it's impossible! MoveOn is a community many millions strong. If just 1% of us donate $10, we'll hit the goal!

Just 1% of us at $3 a week. I believe we can do it together. I KNOW we can.

So, will you help us raise $1 million by the end of October? Will you give $3 to help us beat back Trump in 2022, so we can make sure that 2024 is not the most dangerous election of our lifetime?

And when I say I believe we can do this together ... that I know we can do this together ... I say that because I have seen our power in action.

From mobilizing voters in 2018 and 2020 to stop Trump in his tracks. From helping end the war in Iraq by electing Democrats who would stand up to George W. Bush. From electing Barack Obama to helping him pass the Affordable Care Act which provided health care to millions of Black, brown, LGBTQ+, and low-income Americans, we—you—have climbed mountains much bigger than a million dollars.

But this is the mountain we must climb today. And we can climb it only if we climb it together.

We don't have corporate backers writing million-dollar checks. We don't have dark-money PACs willing to funnel seven-figure sums our way (nor would we want them).

We have us. Millions of us. And I am asking because this is the wrong time to come up short.

I need you to dig deep today and make a donation of any size. Give at a level that feels good and that feels impactful. A level that helps us make sure 2022 does not lay the groundwork for the most dangerous election cycle in our lifetime.

Please, chip in $3 today, or whatever you can afford, to help us meet our $1 million need by the end of October. I know we can climb this mountain together, if each of us does our small piece.

Yes, I'll do my part.

Thanks for all you do.

–Rahna Epting, MoveOn Executive Director

Planned Parenthood receives record gov't funding despite drop in health services

Curated for you byCP Editors
Good afternoon! It's Tuesday, September 20, and today's headlines include details on Planned Parenthood's increase in government funding despite it providing services to fewer clients, California Gov. Gavin Newsom's new billboard campaign that endorses abortion availability in the state by citing a Bible verse that includes the words of Jesus, and an interview with Dr. Michael Brown.
Planned Parenthood's 2020-2021 report has revealed that it received more than $633 million in "Government Health Services Reimbursements & Grants" for the year ending June 30, 2021, which accounts for more than one-third of its total revenue. The abortion giant provided services to 2.16 million clients, down from the 2.4 million it served during the same period the year before. While the organization, which is the nation's largest abortion provider, revealed an 8% increase in the total number of abortions performed, services and testing for sexually transmitted infections decreased by more than one million, while cancer screenings were down by nearly 200,000, and contraceptive services decreased from more than 2.5 million to less than 2.2 million during the same period. Adoption referrals also decreased from 2,667 to 1,940. Planned Parenthood acknowledged the reduction in services in the report, stating it was "proud to provide abortion." It further blamed the COVID-19 pandemic for a reduction in services but asserted that "[a]bortion is essential health care that cannot wait for the end of a pandemic or the whims of politicians."
Live Action News' Carole Novielli weighed in on the report, noting that Planned Parenthood has seen a 30% decrease in the number of clients it has served when compared to 2009-2010. Novielli also noted that Planned Parenthood conducted 6.4 million abortions from 2000 to 2020 but provided prenatal care services to a little over 303,000 pregnant women. "To put it in perspective, Planned Parenthood has committed about the same number of abortions every year that it offered in prenatal care services over two decades combined," Novielli wrote. Continue reading.

Dr. Michael Brown believes that Christians should be involved in politics, but he is concerned about political obsession. In a recent interview with The Christian Post, the author of the recently released book, The Political Seduction of the Church: How Millions of American Christians Have Confused Politics with the Gospel, shared his concerns about Christians merging the Gospel with the elections "as if a political party was the key to advancing God's Kingdom on the earth." Noting the importance of the upcoming 2024 presidential election, Brown explained that "healthy" Christian nationalism is an approach where people say, "I love Jesus, and I love my country," while "unhealthy" nationalism is that which equates America's destiny with the Kingdom of God, and the "very dangerous" version comes when modern-day Christians say, "We're we're going to have to take up arms against the government in the name of Jesus." Read more.

Brooklyn Bishop Lamor Whitehead was detained by police on Sunday after he forcefully removed a woman who disrupted his sermon and allegedly threatened his family two months after he was robbed at gunpoint. Two women engaged in a heated exchange with Whitehead during the sermon. Whitehead began praying for the women in tongues before yanking 47-year-old Tarsha Howard by her neck and forcing her out of the church. The other woman fled. Whitehead was briefly detained while police sorted out what happened but was later released without any charge. Howard was charged with trespassing and disrupting a religious service. Read more.
Televangelist and self-proclaimed prophetess Juanita Bynum is defending her $1499.99 four-week intensive prayer course, calling the online criticism she has faced an "insult." Some have compared her course to a prayer meeting, with Chicago-based internet preacher and U.S. Army veteran Marcus Rogers telling his nearly 1 million Facebook followers the price tag was "outrageous." Bynum, who describes herself as a "pioneer" in high-level prayer, addressed naysayers during a Facebook Live Broadcast on Thursday, saying, "I’m not going to insult myself to even discuss the price. It’s an insult to who I am after being in ministry for over 50 years." Read more.

Lolita poems

Sixteen Going On Seventeen

I wipe my cherry stained lips
and glance up, unwittingly meeting your gaze,
captivated by the innocence of my elusivity.
I wonder to myself, do I make you feel
how you felt when you were sixteen?
Though, the stumbling dance of your voice
tells me all I need to know.

It is in the way my nimble fingers
paint their tips a Lolita red,
and messily decorate my wide eyes
that I coquettishly bat at the senior guys.
How I twirl my hair and pout my lips,
ever so kittenish as I whisper in the ear of a friend
with a crooked grin and a stifled giggle.

I pull away as desperation washes over me,
a sudden realization that in one year’s time
those enigmatic senior boys I fancy,
known only by wrinkled pages adorned with pink cursive,
will be long gone.
For it will be me walking the halls
with seniority in my step,
to the beat of time’s ceaseless march.
And I wonder what would be of life if not lived
through the heart shaped sunglasses of a little girl?

From where this funny feeling came, I couldn’t say.
It’s simply the way I find calm
in this feminine facade.
My hairless legs crossed as I pretend
to not notice their eyes, gawking at the way I sit,
a cigarette in my dainty hand and Kafka on my lap,
listening to cars pass me by, harmonizing with
voices and whistles of which I pay no mind.

I’ll get lost in introspection
and try reversing time, to treasure
my naivety and freeze it in this rhyme.
It’s an indescribable romance,
like the fire in your loins,
the way I adore this feeling so fondly.
I find myself high on the thrill
of being just sixteen,
going on seventeen,
as I clutch to the virtue of my slipping youth.

She

Some believe Lolita was a muse
Mostly because She was depicted as having a choice in the matter
We all knew She was suffering from abuse
So why was there a surprise element at the end of her chapter?

Maybe it was because personalities like her are never believed
How could someone so seductive be so clueless to her actions?
But women like her are always perceived
To like the reactions to their interactions

Men have never understood the concept of an independent woman
A woman that does not need anyone but herself
A woman that sees herself as a competent human
And not as a piece of meat meant to gratify himself

I once saw Lolita as an inspiration
A beautiful girl sought by a man who could give her everything She wanted
Then I grew up and realized She was nothing but a figment of his imagination
A twisted, sick mind in which She was concocted

He described her as his nymphet
His favorite little girl who he could use without guilt
His absence of sin alerted me that there was a limit
But men don’t understand limits until everything is spilled

I was groomed when I was a child, maybe twelve or thirteen
He didn’t care that I was well under eighteen
Only that I didn’t tell anyone and He could see me on his screen
I was so happy that someone finally noticed me, not realizing I was only a tween

I will never forget the interactions I shared with him and the many that came after
I blamed myself for believing they cared about me
I told my friends and we all burst into a bout of laughter
At that moment I knew who would make my life insufferable, He

play with me

in a dusty room, where no-one goes,
the closets locked and the windows closed,
a doll sits quietly with porcelain skin,
her hair, silky brown and her soft lips thin.
cracks stretch across the ancient ceiling,
the aura around her gives you an eerie feeling.

her dress, a lace Victorian ivory,
her shoes made from silk, her ribbons ebony
dorned in her hair, her bangs, an ornate style,
her lips curve up into an eerie smile,
her lashes long, her eyelids closed,
she opens them suddenly, crimson eyes exposed.

she tilts her head innocently to the side,
her lips open slowly, the smile now wide,
her voice was soft but sounded quite haunting
this now seems pretty daunting.
"no one walks within this room" shed giggle as she'd say
"you seem like fun, do you want to play?"

Moulin Rouge

Mountains of a million men
A velocity of cinematic lights
giving birth to flames; like rising dragons
transforming into women, into art.

Fires, feathers and golden snakes
caved bodies of femme fatales
hell's transgressive angels
fulfil fantasies of married men.

Crowds, celebrating with beer and cigars
chanting in French, desiring sweet flesh.
No woman resembled his fatal lover,
Lady Moulin Rouge.

In crowds of lust, danger gleamed upon
that young, seductive touch
of a female, lost within
mountains of a million men.

The nymphet of his desire
Soft and stark naked
holding a cigar; inhaling
the sweet betrayal of suicide.

A child, ten years of age
with the haunting resemblance
of Lady Rouge; forbidden knowledge
HE lost his daughter.

Waiting on Nightfall

You come to me in dreams
and every second I'm sleeping,
the tiny part of me that is barely conscious
is begging to stay asleep;
because the way you hold me and whisper
my name in dreams is something
nothing I'm awake for could ever
make me feel.
It makes me sad that I can only dream
of your touch; because waking up to you
would surely be a dream in itself.
I want to roll over at two in the morning
and lay my head on your chest;
feeling it rise and fall as we breathe
in sweet synchronicity.
What I'd give to come home to you,
your tie loosened and your top buttons
undone, that familiar worn and tired
expression hanging like a painting on your face
after a long day.
What I'd give to repaint it with gentle kisses
and tender words.
Let me undo the rest of your buttons and pull
you back into warmth;
into me.
You are at the heart of my deepest
desires- these feelings whose
existence I can barely admit to myself.
If there ever comes a night
when my dreams no longer grant
my waking wishes;
I'll stay awake forever,
because anything short of your dreamy
touch would only be a nightmare.
