Our Quarantine Story Michelle Whittaker

Our Quarantine Story

Michelle Whittaker
after Dorothea Grossman

During the pandemic, after he was laid off, it was his idea
to forage for edible weeds around Queens when our food grew scarce.

From the stoop, I would watch him crouched on one knee,
his bare hands between telephone poles,

pulling up green stars from the control joints
under our mailbox full of clover mites & commercial flyers.

I almost forgot how sprawl could be so quiet.

When he returned inside, he rinsed off the stalks,
placed a rolled lot on his tongue and then on mine.

He mentioned how “sticky” foods could be a delicacy
in other cultures, as I turned my back and coughed them out.

And later in the evening, he read to me about how
indigenous women prevented pregnancy by drinking

cleaver tea, as he handed me a tall cup of it swirling with honey.

Timothy - the R95 face mask, one of the most powerful air filtering masks available to the public, is close to being finished.

The folks over at The Self Reliance Association told us that because of fear over a new COVID strain, they’re almost totally sold out.

And chances are they won’t get any more for months.

As of this morning, they said they have 139 R95 masks left in stock.

Here’s why they’re so popular right now:

  • It’s got an adjustable nose piece for a good fit that doesn’t fog up your glasses…

  • Optional Exhalation vents to prevent hot air from staying close to your face and fogging your glasses…

  • And reusable air filters (so you’re always getting maximum filtration and breathing clean air).

  •

Since this is one of the only masks that creates a full seal around your face -- ensuring all the air you breathe is 100% filtered -- they’re in incredibly high demand around the world right now.

And with 139 left in stock, you can bet they’ll sell out quickly.

Click here to get yours before it’s too late.

P.S. -- Recent studies show that normal medical and cloth masks most people wear can actually increase your chances of catching COVID.

That’s because they have huge GAPS that create vortexes of contaminated air (which go straight into your lungs). Unless you’re a medical professional, this is likely the only mask you can find that keeps you totally protected.

McCarthy seeks shift from party's civil war
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is desperately looking to change the subject from his own party’s civil war to a common opponent: President Biden.

McCarthy and other GOP lawmakers will travel to Houston on Tuesday to rail against what they call Biden’s “job-killing” energy policies. The GOP leader previously spent several days accusing Biden of dragging his feet in reopening schools and knocking his administration’s plan to give COVID-19 vaccinations to Guantánamo Bay prisoners.

The efforts are a reprieve for McCarthy, who is otherwise the touchstone of an internecine battle ripping apart his party as it charts a path forward after former President Trump’s defeat and departure from Washington.
