In honor of Juneteenth, join FRONTLINE and PBS Black Culture Connection for a conversation that will reflect on the work of historic leaders including the abolitionist Frederick Douglass and the journalist Ida B. Wells, whose reporting raised awareness about lynching and was an inspiration for FRONTLINE's Un(re)solved project.   You can RSVP now to watch the virtual event on Friday, June 24 at 2 p.m. Eastern; it will also stream on the PBS Black Culture Connection Facebook page. The discussion will feature insights from: Michelle Duster: Author of Ida B. the Queen and a faculty member at Columbia College Chicago, Duster is the great-granddaughter of Ida B. Wells. Kenneth Morris Jr.: Founder of the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives and the descendant of two of the most influential names in American history, Morris is the great-great-great-grandson of Frederick Douglass and the great-great-grandson of Booker T. Washington. The event will be moderated by journalist Ron Nixon, global investigations editor at the Associated Press and a co-founder of the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting.   Nixon, Duster and Morris will discuss how history, education and storytelling can reveal truth and provide pathways toward empowerment and justice. Their conversations will also explore cold case killings during the civil rights movement, and how they relate to the state of race relations in American today.

Dear Mr. Timor You, Dear Mr. Timor You, Happy Father’s Day! I hope that this day may bring many graces on the fathers in your life. The question can be asked, “What is a father?” Or, more precisely, “What is a Catholic father?” I think that many men feel embattled as the war on masculinity has reached epic proportions. With the gender-bending, pronoun-swapping craziness going on, it’s a wonder any male dares call himself a real man these days. My dear friend, Adrien Fonseca, will share his thoughts on Fathers in this just released YouTube video. A Catholic father today MUST stand out. He cannot be mediocre and still be Catholic in the pagan days in which we live. Would you like to know what constitutes a “mediocre” man? Then it occurred to me, perhaps this is why Satan wants to erase the image of what it truly means to be a man by erasing from our minds and experience the masculine qualities of Christ.
