Dear Timor, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is thrilled to celebrate Trans Day of Visibility, an important opportunity to lift up trans joy, trans life, and trans contributions to our world! I believe that as a community, our greatest strength lies in our differences – in our backgrounds, our perspectives, and our identities. As a mission-driven reproductive health care provider, the only way Planned Parenthood can truly expand health care access to all is to ensure that all voices are heard, validated, and respected. That every person can access the full range of care they need. As a Planned Parenthood supporter, we know you share these inclusive values. Because of the support of people like you, Planned Parenthood is proud to be able to provide gender-affirming care, now including gender-affirming hormone therapy (GHT) at six of our health centers across Ohio. As we move forward with this new service expansion, we choose to take time to acknowledge moments like this – because trans people are more than just their medical needs, or their trauma, or the fight over their rights. They are valued patients, community members, and whole beings deserving of appreciation and celebration. To our trans and non-binary supporters: you are valued members of our community. We see you, and we stand with you. To our cisgender supporters: we thank you for your support of our work, and ask you to consider how you’re cultivating trans inclusion in your life and language. Every day, our trans and non-binary friends and neighbors are tasked with managing their identities to suit the expectations of others.
